Is the Ferry a passenger or vehicle ferry?
The ferry is a passenger ferry. What makes the Island unique is its restrictions of gas operated vehicles. Means of transportation around the island are by foot, bike or electric golf cart. For bike and/or cart rental information, please contact the Island Passage
What are the departure times for the ferry?
The ferry leaves for the island at the top of every hour (example: 8am, 9am, etc.) excluding 12:00pm during certain times of the year. When planning your trip to BHI, please treat the ferry schedule as you would an airline schedule; arrive with ample time for check-in procedures.
You would want to arrive at the ferry landing at least 30 minutes BEFORE the ferry departure time to make sure you unload and park your vehicle in ample time. The ferry is very strict on its departure/arrival times and WILL NOT WAIT. Keep in mind if you miss the ferry by a few minutes, you will be an hour late on your island arrival time.
How do I reserve a tee time if I am docking my boat in the marina?
If you plan on using a private boat, you will have to contact the Dock Master for docking information at (910) 457-7380. It is mandatory to purchase a guest membership from the Dock Master to access the golf course as well as other club amenities.
You will also need to contact Island Transportation in order to set up transportation to and from the Club. The golf shop is not responsible for transportation to and from the course but will certainly try our best to assist you.
Do you have rental sets for my round of golf?
Yes, the golf shop does have a limited number rental sets available for a round of golf. Our rental sets are supplied by Callaway Golf and consist of a driver, two fairway woods, two hybrids, 5-SW irons, and a putter. Please contact the golf shop for pricing.
What is the dress code for the golf course and practice facility?
Proper golf attire is mandatory for both the golf course and practice facility.
Men’s acceptable attire:
Collared shirts or high mocks are acceptable
Twill/Cotton bottoms are acceptable
Ladies acceptable attire:
Collared shirts or crew neck tops are acceptable
Twill/Cotton bottoms are acceptable
NO denim, biker shorts, gym shorts, swim wear, tank tops, or any other attire deemed inappropriate by the golf professional staff.
If you are questioning your attire prior to arrival, most likely it will not be appropriate golf attire.
Metal spikes are NOT acceptable. Spikeless shoes and rubber soled tennis shoes are permitted on both the course and practice facility.

I am staying in a member’s home and would like to play golf. What do I need to do?

Are personal coolers allowed on the course?
Personal coolers are prohibited on the course, however, each cart is provided with a cooler to store Club food and beverages.
How far in advance do I need before I check-in the golf shop for my tee-time?
The golf shop requests you arrive 30 minutes prior to tee time which gives you ample time to warm up and would like for you to be at the first tee 10 minutes before your tee time. Example: Tee time @ 10:06am, check in golf shop @ 9:30am, and be at first tee @ 9:55am.
